We are committed to being a good neighbour within the communities in which we operate. As part of this commitment we regularly support projects that will benefit the local community within these areas, through sponsorship and donations.
Each of our operational sites has a budget to support local projects. Individual donations from this fund are capped at £150, and we look to support initiatives that focus on skills, education, environment and nature conservation, employment opportunities and projects that build stronger community relationships and benefit the wider community. With this in mind, we are unfortunately unable to sponsor individuals in their fundraising (e.g. treks, running, bungee jumps, travel costs, tuition fee, bursaries etc.)
To ensure that it is communities local to our sites that benefit, project must be within seven miles of a Tarmac site - you can check your eligibility here https://www.tarmac.com/location-finder/find-a-site/
If your project meets these specifications, please email email@example.com for us to consider your request
The Landfill Communities Fund
The Landfill Tax Credit (as it was originally named) was established by the Government in 1996. It enables landfill operators to donate part of their annual tax liability to enrolled Environmental Bodies for a variety of approved community and environmental projects. Since the Landfill Communities Fund was established we have donated almost £19 million to local communities and projects throughout the UK.
More information about the Landfill Communities Fund can be found here: http://www.entrust.org.uk/
Local groups can apply for funding for a wide range of community and environmental projects within 7 miles of a Tarmac waste, cement and lime or quarrying site provided they are within 10 miles of any licenced landfill site.
