Martin Riley, Senior Vice President, Tarmac, has been appointed MPA Chairman for the next two years, succeeding Simon Vivian of the Breedon Group.
Nigel Jackson, Chief Executive MPA, paid tribute to Simon’s contribution to MPA over the last two years and welcomed Martin, saying: “We are delighted that Martin has agreed to pick up the baton from Simon and become the seventh chairman of MPA. His wide industry knowledge and experience will be invaluable to the association as we look to implement and build on the new MPA Charter, ensure the industry’s interests are protected over the coming years as we leave the EU and that the mineral products sector plays its part in the emerging Industrial Strategy.”
Martin said: “I’m honoured to take up the position as MPA Chairman. Having been involved with the MPA for many years I fully appreciate the importance of one industry voice and the need to work in collaboration with the many members of the MPA to drive changes and improvements across our industry.
“I am passionate about this industry and that we continue to build a safe and sustainable future - the new MPA charter outlines the new five-year strategy. Key to this will be the continued dialogue with the UK Government to ensure the importance of our sector to its UK infrastructure plans is fully acknowledged and represented."
