In 1944 we laid the runway at Heathrow airport. Marking 69 years of asphalt expertise and contracting services in 2013, we completed the resurfacing of its southern runway. 170,000m2 of Marshalls asphalt or the equivalent of 24 football pitches all laid during limited night time possession.

Logistics In aviation there is no room for error. Collaboratively we ensure that project requirement is completely understood. We recognise the need to think bigger and are all aware of the project objectives; our delivery is planned and rehearsed. Risks are continually reviewed and contingency plans are vast to ensure the complex impacts of airport operations, safety and security are met.
Operational windows Strict working operations rely on absolute performance; on-time delivery, quality and contingency. Downtime is not an option. We understand the commitment required to keep works on plan and flight schedules free from disruption.
Capability At Heathrow we are currently the nominated framework supplier for pavement works. Supporting the airports operational needs has required the installation of approximately 1 million tonnes of concrete and asphalt in just 4 years from dedicated airside and landside plants. Across the UK our contracting teams have laid Marshall Asphalt to over 70 separate aviation schemes.
