Thousands of visitors to this year’s Norfolk & Norwich Festival are set to enjoy world-class performances from across Europe and the UK in the region’s open spaces completely free of charge, thanks to support from Tarmac.
The UK’s leading highways maintenance and construction solutions company is supporting the Festival for the fourth consecutive year as part of its ongoing commitment to community engagement in the region, where its activities include responsibility for Norfolk County Council’s highways maintenance programme.
Alistair McBeath, general manager, Highways Services, south at Tarmac said: “Tarmac is really proud to be an active member of the local community. It’s great to be continuing our support of the Free Outdoor Programme helping people across Norfolk and beyond access what promises to be a fantastic series of performances and events.”
A wide range of performances make up this year’s Free Outdoor Programme including a spectacular opening with carnivalesque performers set to take over the streets of Norwich culminating in a spectacular aerial finale. Other highlights include robotic woodpeckers popping up across the city, a huge art installation on Wells Beach and a garden party.
Daniel Brine, festival Director at Norfolk & Norwich Festival, said: “We’re delighted that Tarmac is once again able to sponsor the outdoor programme at Norfolk & Norwich Festival. By working together we are able to bring a fantastic range of outdoor work to the Festival, from the Festival Launch through to the Garden Party, one of our most popular weekends. The partnership enables us to deliver events across the city for the people of Norwich to enjoy for free.
This year’s festival runs between 11 and 27 May and is one of the four largest arts festivals in the UK. To find out more visit www.nnfestival.org.uk.
