Earlier this month, Tarmac’s Aberthaw cement plant was happy to welcome The Rt Hon Alun Cairns MP for a visit. A regular visitor to the site, Mr Cairns returned on 13 October for an update on the site and to hear more about the company’s roadmap to reach net zero by 2050.

Lincolnshire Vintage Vehicle Society, which operates the Lincolnshire Road Transport Museum, has benefitted from a £9,400.80 grant from the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund.

Tarmac’s Tunstead Cement Plant, located near Buxton, in the Peak District, opened its gates to host a family day event, allowing colleagues to share their workplace with their loved ones.

The Newark-based YMCA Community & Activity Village welcomed special guests and supporters from organisations, including Tarmac, to celebrate the official opening of new cycling facilities.  

Tarmac joined Walsall Council officers and colleagues from Crown Highways, Amey Consulting and CLM Construction as part of a social value exercise to tackle litter along Willenhall Greenway. 

Tarmac has welcomed over 30 apprentices and graduates to the business, as it strives to upskill and grow talent within the construction industry.

Earlier this year, Tarmac provided a donation of £100,000 to Bolsover District Council towards the construction of a brand-new Heritage and Wellbeing Centre in Creswell, Derbyshire.  

The first trial melt has been completed as part of the innovative Cement 2 Zero project, which aims to develop the world’s first zero-emissions cement on an industrial scale.  

A family affair – Mother Julie, and her daughters Leah and Kelsey Nolan have been busy carving out what they hope to be long and successful careers with the company.
