Shadow industry minister visits Tarmac’s Tunstead Quarry

Bill Esterson MP, shadow industry minister, has visited Tarmac’s flagship Tunstead site near Buxton, Derbyshire, to tour the combined quarrying, cement and lime manufacturing operation, one of the largest in the UK. Mr Esterson was accompanied by Jon Pearce, the Labour Party Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for High Peak.

Tarmac a step closer to world first CCS zero emissions lime plant 

Tarmac, in collaboration with Leilac, has moved a step closer to delivering the world’s first zero emissions lime plant, having passed the due diligence phase with The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) as part of the Industrial Carbon Capture (ICC) funding scheme, track 1 phase 2. 

The peril of potholes: planning ahead for longer life roads

The perennial issue of potholes finds itself in the spotlight again following the results of the ALARM survey published by the Asphalt Industry Alliance (AIA) today, which reports that local authority highway teams in England and Wales only received around two-thirds of what they needed to stop our local roads from further deterioration. In addition, that more than ÂŁ14 billion is now needed to fix the backlog* of carriageway repairs.
